Expand Your Social Life Through Ballroom Dancing

Remember when you were a kid and it was so easy to get to know people? You just sat next to each other in class, and BAM you were friends... Well it can still be that easy! Especially in a ballroom dance class.

Healthy Environment

Nowadays, it can be hard to find a place to spend your leisure time that has a positive impact on you. Somewhere that is fun, uplifting, where you can be yourself and receive encouragement from others. It can be nerve-wracking to step out of your comfort zone and try something new when you don't know what to expect. That's why we consider providing a safe and encouraging environment to our dancers as one of our priorities. Having access to dance classes and social events that make you feel safe and excited can give you both happiness and health.

Warm & Welcoming Atmosphere

People say that first impressions are everything. That often applies to meeting individuals. But it can also apply to a whole environment. When you walk into a room, you can immediately feel if it's somewhere you are going to be comfortable or not. Anywhere you go, there will be people who are difficult to be around and people that are easy to be around. As for Ballroom dancing, the objective is to learn how to carry out a dance move through physical contact. Whether it be for the goal of expressing oneself, challenging your brain to learn a new skill, or just enjoying the exercise- ballroom dancing, at its core, is about connecting with another person. So more often than not, you're going to meet people who desire to socialize, laugh and interact in a positive and joyful way. Which is exactly what happens when you share dancing with someone.

No Pressure to Talk

A common barrier for people trying to meet new people is the pressure to talk. How do I start the conversation? What if I can't think of anything interesting to say? What if it's awkward? These are very common worries for people to have in social settings. And sometimes, these worries can keep people from even attempting to step out and find a good community of people. Thankfully, dancing can be a helpful stepping stone to starting that conversation.

When you are dancing, there is no need to wrack your brain, thinking about something interesting to say. You just get to dance and enjoy the interaction of learning something new with another person. And when you do wish to talk, you can simply discuss the dance move you are working on, and that can be the spark to start your conversation.
